The Teacher Tutor plays a vital role in supporting Beginning Teachers within the school context. As an experienced practitioner you are able to draw on your own knowledge, skills and experience to help Induction/Early Professional Development Teachers progress through the Induction/EPD stage of their careers to acquire confidence and competence in their turn.
In doing so, you are contributing to the Department of Education’s School Improvement Policy which advocates the involvement of “our best teachers in supporting the learning both of beginning teachers and their more experienced counterparts.” (Every School a Good School, DE. April 2009)
