The Inter-Board Regional Strategy Group was established by the Association of Chief Executives to:-
- Work towards regional criteria which could promote consistency in relation to assessing the needs of children and young people with identified Special Educational Needs.
- Promote more consistency in relation to the delivery of services and provision for children and young people with identified Special Educational Needs.
- To recommend to the Association of Chief Executives regional and strategic approaches which are required as a result of the implementation of statutory guidance and legislation which relates to children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
- To recommend to the Association of Chief Executives areas in which research and development could be commissioned.
