Benefits, Educational Maintenance Allowance

EMA for pupils 16, 17 and 18 years of age on or between 2 July 2005 and 1 July 2006

 

Applications for EMA in respect of pupils 16, 17 and 18 years of age on or between 2 July 2005 and 2 July 2006 are not dealt with by the Education and Library Boards, please contact the Department for Employment and Learning (028) 9025 7717 or  Helpline 0845 601 7646.

 

EMA for pupils 19 years of age or over on 1 July 2006

 

A parent may claim EMA in respect of a pupil who:-

 

  • has attained the age of 19 years;

  • is following a full time course at a grant-aided school or institution of further education;

  • has not been awarded under the provisions of Article 50 or 51 of the Order any other award which includes provision for his maintenance;

  • and is ordinarily resident in its area

Educational Maintenance Allowance
